A Dance Gala Unlike Anything Central Ohio Has Ever Seen!
This December 8, 2024, at The Makoy Center, Inspiring Elevated Habits Presents The Winter Wonderland Showcase and Gala!
All proceeds will benefit the Central Ohio Men Against Prostate Cancer. So bring your friends and family and get ready for a dance spectacular along with dinner, drinks, a dance exhibition, and a dance party where you can dance the night away with the best dance professionals in Ohio!
The Schedule
The Showcase
10:00am – 4:00pm: Competition style ballroom dance showcase
The showcase is a competition style single dances and solo performances. This will be done in a proficiency style feedback with national champion judge, Bill Sparks
The dancers will compete while dancing merengue, bachata, polka, east coast swing, west coast swing, cha cha, waltz, tango, salsa, two step, and more!
Attendance at this event is optional but admission is included in your Gala ticket.
Our Main Event – The Red Carpet Gala
This is where the real fun starts!
Each ticket for the gala includes a plated dinner two adult beverages, unlimited pop and coffee and a two hour of Ballroom Dance entertainment show!
5:00pm: Doors Open
5:30pm: Plated Dinner and Drinks
6:00pm: Entertainment Show Begins
Act 1
Opening number featuring The Grinch performed by EA Dance Studio and Kimberley Mitchell
A Dance from Bruce and Mimi, mentors of The Ohio State University Dance Team
A Bolero and lyrical performance by Slava and Kristin with Esme from DanceFam Ballroom in Toledo, Ohio
A West Coast Swing dance performed by Rostislav and Sophie, a couple from Columbus and New York City
20 minute intermission with general dancing. Cut loose, grab a drink, and dance!
Act 2
A Fitness Presentation from F3 Columbus Men’s Fitness Group
A sensual Argentine Tango dance performed by Cleveland, Ohio couple, Heriberto and Nika of Viva Dance Studio
A sexy Mambo dance will be performed by Enoch and Anastasia of Hilliard, Ohio based EA Dance Studio
An East Coast Swing dance performed by husband and wife team, Craig and Kimberley
A very special group Salsa class lead by British and American Latin champion, Kimberley Mitchell. The entire audience is welcome to participate!
Dance Party for Everyone!
Come out on the floor and dance the night away with all the performers of the night!

About Bill
“Early on, I was drawn to the world of music and dance where, as a teenager, I enrolled in my hometown ballet academy. After two years, I graduated from high school. I continued to pursue my ballet dance training for an additional 3 and 1/2 years but was forced to quit due to an injury.”
“Realizing my career as a professional ballet dancer was no longer possible, I began to pursue other dance styles, all the while wondering, ‘What if I could no longer dance?’. I really did not know what I would do because, as long as I can remember, I only wanted to be a dancer. But as I look back, I am so thankful to God for having this in his plan for me.”
Landing a job with Arthur Murray Dance Studios as an instructor sealed the deal. Bill soon found himself drawn to the dramatic International Style Latin side of dancing, taking his love of dance to the next level: the competitive dance circuit.
Prior to his retirement, Bill won the U.S. National Championships four times, represented the United States, and became a two-time finalist of the World Latin Championships, placing fifth one year and sixth another.. Bill secured a name for himself as one of the most admired DanceSport competitors to have graced the dance floor.
After 15 years as a successful DanceSport competitor, Bill made the decision to retire from competition and begin adjudicating competitions and coach other Professional couples.

Kimberley Mitchell
About Kimberley
Kimberley Mitchell comes from a Ballroom family with both parents still teaching dance in London, England. At the age of 5, she began to compete in both International Standard and Latin competitions throughout England and Europe.
Kimberley is a six time British Open Champion, International Champion, and winner of the United Kingdom Open and Closed British Championships in both standard and Latin.
At the age of 18, Kimberley moved to the USA to turn Professional and dance with Bill Sparks. Together, they became 2-time United States International Latin Champions, British Open Professional Rising Star Champions, 3-time Ohio Star Ball Champions, and 5th in the Professional World Latin Championships.
A championship level certified adjudicator in all 4 styles of dance (Standard, Latin, Smooth and Rhythm) Kimberley now coaches Professionals as well as Pro/am students and amateur couples in both mainstream and same-sex competitions and is a member of the Fred Astaire International Dance Council.
